Along with our friends Alphabetti Theatre and Coracle, we’re on the hunt for exciting and daring writers with new one-act plays.
What is Write Longer? A hot-house for developing new plays and new creative relationships.
It’s an opportunity to:
- share work with peer writers
- hear your work read by actors in a safe place
- participate in a series of workshops with dramaturgs and theatre companies in a supportive environment
Alphabetti Theatre will be running 6 workshops in spring and summer 2019 with at least 6 writers getting to hear their play read at each workshop. That’s up to 40 writers in total.
As actors read your play, Write Longer mentors and dramaturgs will share ideas, advice and guidance on how to develop your script to the next stage.
Artistic leads from The Six Twenty, Alphabetti Theatre and Coracle will be at each workshop looking for work to turn into productions. 3 writers will win a £500 commission to develop their play, ahead of a professional production by one of the companies later in the year.
- Spring workshops – 26th April, 27th April or 28th April, 10am to 6pm
- Summer workshops – 31st May, 1st June or 2nd June, 10am to 6pm
